After 31 years since the last ninth volume in August 1987, the tenth volume of Masami Yuuki (Birdy the Mighty, Mobile Police Patlabor)'s sci-fi school comedy manga Kyukyoku Chojin R is set to be released on August 10. The news was announced in this year's 21st/22nd combined issue of Shogakukan's Big Comic Spirits magazine released today in Japan.

Kyukyoku Chojin R was originally serialized in Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday from 1985 to 1987. Even long after the serialization ended, various one-short stories have been published in the publisher's magazines, mainly in Big Comic Spirits. The upcoming tenth volume is expected to include those one-shots. To promote the release, a newly-drawn story is also set to be published in the publisher's yet-revealed magazine this summer.

In addition, two perfect edition box sets are scheduled to be released. The first set containing the first

to fifth volumes will be released on July 12, then the second set containing the sixth to tenth volumes

will follow on August 10. All cover illustrations will be newly drawn by the author. The price for both sets

is 6,480 yen.
